雙節距鏈條其節距為標準鏈條的兩倍，是採用標準鏈條的零件（連結平板除外）。因此，長度與強度是相同的，但是零件數量減半，亦即重量減輕、經濟效率提高。這種鏈條最適用於在低速的相對長動力傳輸。
